Sell, buy camera gear at this Tampa museum this weekend
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, a nonprofit organization, will hold a “garage sale” where people can buy or sell a variety of photographic equipment this weekend.
“With photography, equipment is a very big part of the process,” said Zora Carrier, PH.D., executive director of the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts. mentioned. “Unlike other practices, experimentation is a big part [of what] photographers like to make and try new technologies and new approaches.
The garage sale event benefits the museum and is free to the public with the regular museum admission price. Museum members can sell their equipment by completing an application.
If you’re not a member and want to sell, you can find out how to become one on the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts website.
The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts Garage Sale will be held May 22 from 2-4 p.m.
Registration is also open for the museum’s summer camps, which run from June 6 to August 5. The program will include photography, painting and writing.
“We work with children on photography lessons for many different reasons. Photography is a wonderful skill for any job preparation,” Carrier said. “It also encourages communication skills and there is so much problem solving; we learn science while exploring photography.
The museum is open daily from noon. General admissions information can be found on their website.
